Completely Addicted to Zhivago

My " Obsession " this week...

It’s spring racing season and what is more perfect than going to the races dressed in the perfect dress, wearing the STAND out fascinator and turning heads. It’s spring racing fashion that gets my latest attention……..Starts the latest obsession.

This is a good obsession. Is it? I want all obsessions to be this good, good for your state of mind. If they are.

I’m obsessed with the beautiful Timeless Dress from the SS13/14 collection – it’s walking off shelves everywhere – be quick to get your hands on this piece!

Jesinta Campbell is ahhmazing --- makes this dress fall soo sexy. I am not sure how any mere mortal will now live up to this picture.

This got me thinking about obsession, what balances life? It’s such a loosely used term, too much is the word downgraded to a common adjective.

ob·ses·sion [uhb-sesh-uhn]
noun

1. the domination of one's thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, desire, etc.
2. the idea, image, desire, feeling, etc., itself.
3. the state of being obsessed.

obsession  (əbˈsɛʃən)
- n
psychiatry a persistent idea or impulse that continually forces its way into consciousness, often associated with anxiety and mental illness.
a persistent preoccupation, idea, or feeling

Coming from:
1510s, "action of besieging," from L. obsessionem, noun of action from obsidere (see obsess). Later, "hostile action of an evil spirit" (like possession but without the spirit actually inhabiting the body). Transferred sense of "action of anything which engrosses the mind"

I don’t really know if I want to go into the darker side – every human has their vice, who is to judge? No one. Who is to say you can’t? Do that? Do this? When does it become unhealthy….. when it’s unbalanced? Best and only taken advice from one of my Nanna’s – everything in moderation, nothing is bad for you until you have too much of one thing. I almost wrote just then that an exception to this is WATER, but wait,  you can have to much of water, you can drown yourself. Everything we do in life has the capacity to drown you, one way or another.

Give yourself something; indulge in the amazing, the want - but spread the obsession, feed the hunger with many virtues.

Let your mind be engrossed with the positive, live and let live, don’t die of profligacy.

Love Dee
